Technically yes: Although extremely rare, most any infection can spread to other organs via your bloodstream. If you have unfinished dental treatment, then finish it. Chances are you will not have an infection spread to your brain, but that you will loose the tooth if you do not complete your care.

Doubtful.: In this day and age it is very unlikely. Is it an upper or lower tooth. Upper back teeth may affect your sinus. Lower teeth aren't connected to your brain. The infection would have to be so massive that you would already be in the hospital first.
