Yes: A sinus infection can lead to infection inside the skull. Headache, visual problems, double vision, nausea, vomiting, light and sound sensitivity, fever, chills, confusion, sleepiness, tiredness, weakness in an arm or leg or face can occur. But it does not happen often. And viral sinusitis typically does not spread to the brain.

Sinusitis: it would be very unusual but possible . You would require an overwhelming untreated infection. The symptoms would be high fever,severe headache and possibly neck stiffness
