Junk : Not all carbohydrates are the same - but many in western diets are "junk". They have been stripped of their fiber and nutrients. Eating a high carbohydrate diet tends to lead to the problems of obesity and its ills: diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. A well-balanced diet is half your plate of veggies and fruit, then complex carbs and some protein. And don't forget the "good" fats.
