No: Chewing gum stimulates saliva flow which is a good thing. However if you over use your chewing muscles they will become sore as any muscle.. That said look for a gum without sugar and preferable sweeten with xylitol which actually kills bacteria that cause cavities.

Bubble gums: Well.. As far as oral /dental health concerns, if they are sugar free, and you dont have any grinding problem, or tm j disorders , then actually the answer is no. ! it can even be helpful for ur muscles of mastication, as well as salivary glands..
