Canker sores: Cancer sores are usually caused by a different virus as one you would get with an std. If you have a canker sore it just means that you have a virus in your mouth. Potentially you could more prone to get an infection at this time. Cold sores are a little different and can be transmitted sexually hope that helps you. Be safe. Always protect yourself with condoms if at all possible.

They are ulcerations and it is an easy pathway for other pathogens (other bacteria or viruses) to enter your system. If the canker sores are frequent, contact your physician for viral medication

Toothpaste: It has been reported that while canker sores are a viral infection, the foaming agent in toothpaste called sodium laurel sulfate is responsible for about 85% of canker sores. Try changing to a toothpaste that does not have this ingredient in it.
