Sore throat: You can gargle with warm salt water 1 to 3 tsp salt to one cup of water 8 oz. Use kosher salt. Gargle until the pain goes away. The salt will draw the swelling out of the tissues. You could also try gargling with listerine. Or you could try chloroseptic spray to numb it up it is safe in small doses. Feel. Better soon!

See a doctor: You can see a doctor for some prescription medication. You need to keep hydrated and that can be hard when your throat hurts so bad, right? Some prescription medication can help with that, something with a little Codeine in it to numb the back of the throat, will help you sleep as well.
