A member asked:

Do any of the common nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds, etc.) have omega 3's, or just walnuts? how much omega 3's is in 1oz of walnuts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nuts & omega 3: Tree nuts contain omega 3 in the form of Alpha linolenic acid. 1oz of walnuts, a handful, contains 2.5g of omega 3 much higher than in most other nuts containing less than 0.5g. 1oz of walnuts also provides 4g of protein, 2g of fiber, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant phytonutrients, minerals and vitamins.
