8 months after 2nd grade ankle sprain. chronic ptt pain.seen foot n ankle specialist. mri shows ptt inflammation only. physio, insole don't help. so?

An insole : May not be giving enough support at the begining of the recovery. It is possible more immobilization is needed to correct the anatomical structures. Consider an AFO to rest the anatomical structures affected.

AFO: You may need an ankle foot orthosis which is molded ankle brace that can help off-load use of the posterior tibial tendon. Continue using antiinflammatory medication in the mean time. Good luck.

Immobilization: You may benefit with a period of immobilization with a rigid walking boot or a cast or a brace. Have it re-evaluated and get it treated.
