Genetic preposition: Acute ileitis is usually due to microbial infections, e.g., typhoid, though viral infections can also cause acute inflammation. Chronic ileitis or chronic inflammatory bowel disease does not have clearly defined causes and genetic predisposition are only a small part of the etiology.

Crohn's?: Do you mean crohn's disease? If so, it isn't curable but can be managed well under the care of a pediatric gastroenterologist. The causes are not clearly known a it is an autoimmune disorder. See _b.
