A member asked:

What does "terminal ileitis to rule out crohn's disease" mean to you doctors?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Radiology: I have seen that on a ct scan report. It simply means that the terminal ileum (last part of the small intestine and area commonly affected by crohns disease) is inflamed and from the ct scan alone, one cannot rule out crohn's disease. Thus, further testing can be considered to see if this truly is crohns or something else.
