A member asked:

Terminal ileum biopsy: unremarkable ileal mucosa. negative for active/ chronic ileitis, no granulomas seen. meaning? good? bad? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sampling: It is good that there was no pathology in the tissue biopsied. Please keep in mind that the pathologist can only tell you what was in the tissue that was removed, not what is the rest of the body. Lesions in Crohns can be patchy and you need to follow your doctor's advice about follow-up care.
