Asthma: It could be that the pneumonia triggered your asthma and the dose of seretide you are on is not sufficient. Seretide and symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) are similar. You should contact your doctor to adjust your medications, you may need oral steroids if the problem is not resolved soon.

Tobacco use: It may mean that your asthma is getting worse and your treatment needs to be modified. I urge you to consult an allergist asap to find out the reason for the worsening in your asthma.
