A HAND SURGEON: Is trained to take care of many aspect s of the hand, the bones, joints, nerve , blood vessels, tendons, ligaments, skin, everything that works togetehr to make the hand function . A vascualr surgeon deals with the blood supply to the hand ( think of the inflow to the hand) as wth any field, neurology, dermatology, rheumatolgy , there is over lap.

Different doctors : The orthopedic hand doctor will look at all aspects of the hand and wrist including skin, bones, nerves, vessels, tendons, ligaments and motion. The exams they perform are x-rays, mri, emg, and physical exams. Vascular surgeons are fellowship trained surgical specialists that treat blood vessel problems all throughout the body.
