Infection: This sounds like an infection. If you are taking the antibiotic as prescribed by your dentist or doctor and it is not getting better, you should go back for a reevaluation. You may need to change the antibiotic or have a more definitive treatment.

Possible trush: If the white area can be removed like a film leaving redness underneath, would confirm this. If you wear dentures this even more likely. Anti-fungal meds more effective than antibiotics for oral candidiasis.
