Shooting Arm Pain: This may be a nerve problem including a problem from the nerve in your neck, shoulder area(brachial plexus), or distally around the elbow and forearm or at the wrist. The problem is usually easily evaluated and located on a physical examination.

Overuse injury: Without more information, it sounds like you're experiencing pain near your forearm/wrist area, possibly due to overusing that body part. You may have a tendinitis or muscle/ligament strain, which radiates upward when you move your hand. If you're doing some repetitive movement with that hand/lower arm area, try to modify how you do things with that arm so you can rest the affected area.
