Not ALS: Whatever it IS.....I am definitely as sure as sure can be that whatever this turns out to be once you've been seen by a doctor and tested....it is NOT going to be ALS. Have you been seen yet as I'm sure it's been recommended? That's what you need

Indirectly: Prolonged exposure to high blood glucose can mostly cause nerve damage. One type is peripheral neuropathy which can cause numbness and tingling (painful), another is focal neuropathy which affects specific nerves. There are other types as well. Patients with high blood sugar also are at increased risk of developing tendonitis/bursitis/joint pain. These could indirectly cause muscle pain.
A 37-year-old member asked:

How do you choose a good knee brace for a pulled muscle and possibly arthritis?

Dr. Gregg Albers

Braces: Braces have positives and negatives. If you have ligament damage it can protect your joint from further damage. Bracing a painful joint may lead to weak muscles around the joint. Have a good exam by your physician or an orthopedic surgeon, a specialist in bone and joint disease. Any brace should be designed for a specific joint issue, along with instructions on how to keep it healthy.

Boxer's fracture?: If you mean a boxer's fracture i'm sorry to tell you a cast may be your best bet sometimes these are operated on to fix the bone if can't be reduced but surgery is not usually done just to avoid a cast.

??signs??: Kids capable of waking off an injury will, they are more interested in playing & seldom stop unless something really hurts. If no obvious deformity or discoloration of the skin, you might watch it for a while & place a cool compress to help the pain & reduce the swelling. Do this only if the kid can make a fist & extend it & roll the hand back & forth. If not, get it checked now.
