See your doctor: It is not the usual course for most of the people , it does happen occasionally , may will take couple of months , see your surgeon for follow up and possible recurrence , .

Hernia pain: Recurrent pain could be a new hernia, nerve irritation, or muscular strain. It may resolve with anti-inflammatory medications and time. If it persists, you will need to go back to your surgeon.

Maybe normal for you: If you are referring to a groin hernia repair, some patients have a longer recovery time in terms of pain than others. Many patients however, regardless of recovery time have intermittent discomfort in the area that is not dangerous. If you really think something is wrong, call your surgeon to set up an appointment to check it out. Hope this helps!
