Possibly: Xray is usually for looking at bone, but swelling in the skin and soft tissues is often seen on an x-ray especially after an injury or even with infection. If the inflammation extends into the bone, this can be seen as well due to changes in the appearance of the bone, but these changes take much longer to see on a regular xray.
