Not by it's self: If you are using this to replace high sugar beverages such as juice and pop then you are likely to loose weight but just drinking water with lemon by itself has no special properties to cause wt loss but can be part of low calorie healthy diet.

Weight loss: I agree with Dr. Washington. Lemon water is not a weight loss miracle But, do drink lots of water if you wish to lose weight.

Reduce intake: You need to reduce your intake of food and increase physical activity. Depending on how much you are trying to lose, you may need to reduce your intake by half. Start by keeping a detailed food diary for a week and then cut out the foods that are easiest to do without. Wish you good health!
