Advil (ibuprofen) and ice: Follow the post op instructions your dentist gave you. Ibuprophen will help with the pain and swelling. Ice pack 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off will help with any swelling or bruising. The numbness from novacaine should go away within a few hours. Please call the dentist if you have a lot of swelling or the numbness continues
