Depends: It will depend on what toes your broke and where on the foot. The xray will determine that. If the toes need to be immobilized during the healing process, a cast may be used.

No: Usually buddy tapering is used where the toe is taped to the toe next to it unless the fracture is displaced. You will likely be placed in a surgical shoe.
