EVALUATE: If this is something relatively new you really want to know now. If it has been this way for years, most tumors don't wait around that long before causing serious trouble. I think you want a neurologist, and if the neurologist says it's normal check in with a psychiatrist and work on it.

Only possibly: What you are describing is known as 'aphasia' (the language problem) and, perhaps, dementia. A brain tumor can create such problems, but more likely there is some other condition. A high-level neurological examination and workup, including an mri, may be necessary to figure out what you have. Ask for a neurology referral.
