Pap Smears: The very reason one has pap smears is to watch the cervical cells to see if they have the potential to become cancer and if there is, indeed, any evidence of the cancer causing hpv present. The scale goes from zero to five. Cin 2 is not even close to cancer but warrants the colposcopy and treatment. It sounds like your physician is doing everything right. You can be reassured.

Precancerous change: Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 2 (also known as moderate dysplasia) is a precancerous change of the cervical cells. It absolutely is curable, though about 5% of the time it may take more than one treatment. As long as you get your regular recommended follow-up exams from your gyn you have nothing to worry about.
