?a cyst?: Not sure what is meant by 'a cyst on my aorta', or do you possess an outpouching more correctly termed an aneurysm. Cyst = aneurysm?: If by cyst you mean aneurysm, then yes an aortic aneurysm can be serious depending on how large it is. They are typically treated at 5 cm in diameter. It is typically followed with ultrasound.
