Leg pain: Tarlov cysts a commonly seen on mris. They often do not cause pain. Typically there is something else going on that causes pain such as a disc or arthritis pinching a nerve-which is a good question for your doc.

Is it important?: Tarlov cysts are seen in many patients with MRI, and are generally not a significant cause of symptoms, although a strategically located cyst may produce symptoms. Ask your Doctor if the cyst is at a specific location which may produces symptoms. For example, if the cyst is very low in the spinal canal or on the left side, it probably does not contribute to your symptoms.

What to ask...: These are usually asymptomatic cyst that develop along the sacral or lower nerve roots. They do not cause back pain. Usually, I would recommend just watching them and knowing about them initially. Typically, they don't cause any issues, but if the symptoms match the leg pain and imaging supports this, may be worth consulting with a neurosurgeon in your area
