Sexual side effects: Antidepressants which affect serotonin as citalopram and Effexor (venlafaxine) do, may cause changes in sexual desire and functioning. (effexor (venlafaxine) also affects norepinephrine at higher doses). If you're having difficulty with your sex drive or other issues, your doctor could consider wellbutrin (causes less sexual side effects) as long as anxiety is not the main reason you've been prescribed these medicines.
