Not necessarily.: Effexor (venlafaxine) is an serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor which causes some increase in serotonin levels but not as much as plain ssris and depending on the dose of ultram may not have a the excess amounts that can cause serotonin syndrome.If still worried, give your doctor a call to let him know of your concern.
