Post surgery care: It is understandable to be worried about post surgery problems. However, your procedure is routine and safe. Take a friend/family with you to each appointment, keep your post surgery appointments, call in with problems. Your surgeon and team want to work with you through recovery. Be well.

Removal of a major: Salivary gland like the submandibular gland or parotid is not a "major" surgery, nor is it minor. Any surgery carries a host of complications with it, but these are rare occurrences & your focus should be on a successful outcome. Research the best surgeon in your area (ent or oral maxillofacial surgeon), one that will thoroughly explain the process, recovery & risks. Outpatient general anesthesia.
