Do keratoconus treatments that are not hard contacts exist?

Yes: Depending on severity. Sometimes just glasses or soft toric contacts can be used. Then rgp lenses. Then surgical intervention.

Yes: Depending on severity of keratoconus, you could consider a new treatment called collagen crosslinking, or even a procedure called "intacs" which may or may not be right for you. Corneal transplantation is probably the last thing to be offered however.

Yes: Hard contacts are a way to compensate for the visual distortion caused by the keratoconus. A corneal specialist can suggest other means of managing and improving the vision in this condtiion.
