Effective: Of all the reasons to have a cornea transplant, keratoconus carries the best prognosis. If your keratoconus can no longer be managed conservatively (rgp contact lenses for example) then you might need a transplant. It is the leading indication for transplants in the us and is extremely effective. I do more than 100 of these a year and many, many for this reason and patients do quite well.
