Generic fat: Fat of all types is included in plaque. Trans fat and saturated fat are more associated with plaque however.

Neither is good: Trans fats seem to be worse, but both types tend to raise total and LDL cholesterol, which should increase plaque deposition and risk of cardiac events. Exercise (along with other healthy lifestyle habits) can definitely improve your cholesterol panel, prevent plaques and protect you from heart attack.
