Inguinal hernia: I think your doctor should evaluate the hernia explain the situation and it's complications . However now a days there is laparoscopic hernia repair. Small cut, short procedure time and fast recovery time. You may want to see general surgeon experience in laparoscopy. Good luck.

Depends: Most all surgeons would recommend hernia repairs. It is an elective surgery that you could plan for at a convenient time for you. Hernias will not resolve on their own & will likely enlarge slowly over time. Laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery may be an option for you & may be an especially good choice for you since the right hernia is recurrent. See a general surgeon for an exam & their opinion.
