May be normal: Temporary discomforts at the site of a hernia repair may result in a tightness and discomfort that comes and goes for some months after surgery. It can depend on where your hernia was, and if mesh repair was performed. There can be a temporary tight uncomfortable feeling, especially after you have been active. This feeling slowly resolves. See your surgeon if concerns persist.

Site of surgery?: If it's on the same side of surgery, it should get better. Though most patients are back being themselves after a month, initial surgical site tissue changes are profound within the 1st 3 months before easing to a "remodeling mode" that can continue up to 1 yr. If in doubt, you should check in with your surgeon to be safe.

.?: A bit more detail would be great :). But essentially, listen to your body. If the pain goes away and is intermittent, then it's unlikely to be a chronic problem. But pain that is constant, or worsening in character or intensity, should give you concern, and you should see your surgeon for a complete evaluation.
