A member asked:

If a patient has recurring swelling & infections after partial removal of miniarc sling, how many months (or # of recurring infections) should pass before investigating for a possible mesh infection?

Cannot predict: The question or the nature of the infections and the things done for them are not clear from your statements, but if a mesh or other indwelling foreign body is infected, the likelihood is that it will have to be removed, the infection treated, and only then replaced. If you are having recurrent infections in this site the time is now. Good luck.

Urogynecology : I recommend you schedule a visit with a very experienced urogynecologist. This sounds like a complex and somewhat unique medical situation that would require an expert. Sling placement & removal in general do not lead to these kinds of problems. Something out of the ordinary must be going on and seeing a specialist is key. If there is not a urogynecologist in amarillo consider traveling to dfw.
