See below: Most experts do not recommend more than 300mg of the extended release per 24 hours. There are cases where you can supplement with a 50mg tramadol dose for breakthrough periods, but total dose should not exceed 400mg per day. Using lortab, an opioid, may accentuate the effect of tramadol, since both work on mu receptors. You should check with your doctor before taking both.
