Can i take ultram while taking lortab?

Be careful, please: Ultram is not a narcotic but acts like a pain relieving narcotic. Do not take both ultram and lortab during the same 4 hour period. Either of these medications can make you very sleepy. Hope you feel better soon!

Why?: They are similar analgesics...Why do you need both. I would wait at least 4 hours between doses if you were prescribed both.
