A member asked:

I have myelofibrosis. how does the disease progress? does your marrow just keep becoming scar tissue that can't produce blood? is bone pain common?

There is no major pa: Yes the bone marrow does seem to get scarred but there is no major bone pain. There are now new medicines for myelofibrosis approved by the fda just within the last year or so, which seem to slow down the disease .. Bone marrow transplant is also an option of treatment for patients younger than 50 years of age. But you need to go to a major cancer center for getting the advice for best treatment.
