Need more info: An EMG shows only the motor changes. If you had a nerve conduction study that showed only sensory changes, then you have to decide if the numbness and pain are enough to warrant a surgery. The radial sensory nerve does not innervate an area of the hand that needs much sensation, so it is probably a question of pain. The surgery carries some risk of nerve damage.
