Will a myelogram show problems with foraminal stenosis? my arm is numb but emg says probably a cervical nerve root problem. will a myelogram show if foraminal surgery is needed?

Probably this would help with the diagnosis, but less invasive methods might be just as good, especially cervical spine CT or MRI. But your doctor or her radiology colleagues might have good reason to prefer myelography. Ask them.

Myelograms are uncommon these days with the excellent resolution that can be achieved via the use of CAT scans and MRIs. Views of the vertebral foramina should be adequate with the standard approaches. Not clear to me why a myelogram would be selected. This needs further discussion and even a second opinion.
