Maybe: Like any other child, there may be a variety of interests for a variety of reasons. One simply can overgeneralize about the interests of this condition and those who are diagnosed austistic. Finding ways to communicate and using shared experience to advance social and sensory responses are the goals in providing any novel situation. In other words, try it and use it if it works.

Depends on interest.: Children with autism may become obsessively interested in a single object or topic. Tv may become a focus by being stimulating in general and/or by having content that fits with one of the child's obsessive interest.

Many do, some don't: Many children with autism love to watch tv, videos, and the like, and many become obsessed with specific shows or movies, some even memorizing dialogue and repeating it over and over. I recommend no more than 2 hours per day of screen time, which includes, tv, videos, video games, computer use, and smart phone use. It's best to encourage kids to interact with real people, not people on a screen.
