13 month old ignores me calling his name when he is watching tv but he mostly responds to his name when tv is off. he says about 6 words but doesn't say mama yet. would it be recommended to get him evaluated for autism?

Please voice your concerns with your pediatrician. Autism manifest in more ways that can be picked up by a trained pediatrician. Otherwise, the TV is a very distracting for a young brain. This may free up your time to get things done, but early TV viewing May slow language development in children. Ideally kids under 18 months should not watch TV at all.
