Uncertain: Five months after surgery, risks of infectious complication should be near zero. Was the prior surgery complicated or have abscess? Fever? Vomiting? May be something else such as unrelated groin hernia. Call your surgeon or see your family doctor for an exam. May need blood tests, ct scan, etc.
