Esophageal stricture: Stricture is narrowing so esophageal stricture is narrowing of tube connecting mouth to stomach. Solid food might get stuck at narrowing & be unable to pass into stomach. Or symptoms might just be a manifestation of bad heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease. If liquids pass easily, more likely to be stricture. Ask your family doc about referral to gastroenterologist for endoscopic bougie.
