Itching: Generalized itchiness can have several causes. If a transient mosquito bite-like rash appears, then the itching is related to hives, or urticaria. If no rash, then itching is usually related to irritated or dry skin. Alcohol is particularly drying as it causes free water loss by the kidney. Bathing with hot water can also cause irritation/dryness. Cholinergic urticaria is also related to heat.
