A member asked:

What can cause a sezieure in a child with normal blood work and normal cat scan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reply: There are many different reasons for seizure in a child. Common ones include febrile seizure which can occur 6-36 months commonly due to high fever. Then metabolic derangement, heat stroke. Tumors, epilepsy syndromes, brain malformations. Ct scan is a good test to rule out intracranial bleeding, hydrocephalus, but MRI is better test to look for brain abnormality.
