Surgically : Lipoma is a benign fat-containing mass located under the skin (sometimes may be intra-musclular). It is surgically removed through a cut in the skin overlying the lipoma. Procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and some sedation (unless it is very big and deep or multiple).
