Median nerve pinched: No your symptoms are not normal. Numbness of the pal thumb and three fingers indicate that the sensory branches of the median nerve are involved. A visit to your doctor or perhaps having an elector hogan with nerve conduction studies can determine the extent of damage to the nerve.

Median nerve injury: Your symptoms suggest that your median nerve is being compressed. Call your surgeon immediately as you need acute decompression of your nerve whatsoever the cause maybe. In the interim elevate the hand and use nsaids to help decrease the swelling.
