Need evaluation: Triangular fibro cartilage complex or tfcc injuries if untreated will cause serious disability to wrist function , will have wrist weakness , loss of grip pain on pinky side , if you did not see ortho or hand surgeon take an appointment , make sure to follow instruction use of splint , activity etc , some times need surgery

TFCC tear not healed: You are still having mechanical problems. If the tfcc tear has been documented on an mri, then the diagnosis is probably certain and the torn portion may be moving around and catching. This is similar to a torn knee cartilage. It is also possible that the head of the ulna, which is supported by the tfcc, may also be unstable and is causing these symptoms.

Wrist TFCC helps to : Stabilize the ulna and radius. The radius spins around the ulna and the tfcc attaches to a fixed point on the ulna and a broader area on the radius. Tfcc is a cartilage structure and if torn, clicks, swelling and irritaion can occur. A know tfcc tear may benefit from treatment that can include repair, debridement or at times shortening the ulna to take stress off the tfcc and the wrist.
