Had mri done to right hand possible tfcc tear. what would cause pinky to overlap ring finger in the same hand with pain.

Usually a TFC: Tear does not cause finger overlapping. Tfc problems cause pain and changes in the wrist. Finger overlapping are normally seen at fractures or nerve injuries.

Overlap of fingers : Top 5 list 1.Fracture with rotation 2.Rupture of extensor mechanism ( sagital band ) at mp joints 3. Swelling in finger 4. Lag in flexion with normal physiologic overlap accentuated 5. Stiffness in finger ( same as 4) not on list ..Tfcc tear.
