YES: Jaw pain (usually claudication) can be the initial presentation of temporal arteritis or giant cell arteritis, a condition which can lead to blindness if not diagnosed and treated early. Jaw pain alone can be the presentation of heart attack. Some infections can cause severe jaw pain and also require emergency medical attention. Chances are this is TMJ but only the er doc can decide at this time.
